Jermuk air is clean and transparent. Climate is mountainous, winter is long and snowy. Jermuk is water-rich area of the city, there are hot and cold springs, whose water is drinkable, but Jermuk particularly is known for its healing hot springs, which are rich with chemical compounds.

Jermuk resort town was founded in 1935, the city's master plan was drawn up in 1945, but the rapid pace of development was in the 60-ies, when the first resorts construction began. Jermuk is large, first-class hydrotherapy and climatic resort. The City health resort is located in the south-east, at a distance of 173 km from Yerevan, the site is located at an altitude of 1980-2080 meters above sea level on the Plateau, where the town was included, on three sides is surrounded by wooded hills, covered with fresh alpine vegetation. in 1975, a bridge was built on Arpa canyon and it helped to develop a residential section on the left bank of the canyon. The modern resort town of Jermuk is one with developed infrastructures.
